AEW Suggests ‘Fight Forever’ Won’t Be Included With Xbox Game Pass

Update: Well, we’ve got a bit of bad news to share…

AEW Games has responded to the rumor that AEW: Fight Forever will be included with Xbox Game Pass at launch, stating that “we don’t anticipate AEW: Fight Forever being part of any monthly gaming subscription services.”

You can check out the full statement below:

“The internet is buzzing about AEW: Fight Forever purpose @AEWGames is THE OFFICIAL source for all news and info related to AEW: Fight Forever. Hang tight for a new, exclusive AEW: Fight Forever update next Saturday, Nov. 19 during AEW Full Gear 2022!

This also seems like a good time to share that we don’t anticipate AEW: Fight Forever being part of any monthly gaming subscription services.”

Original story: We’ve been looking forward to the release of AEW: Fight Forever for a long time now, and we’re even more excited today as it’s been reported by multiple sources that the game could be launching day one on Xbox Game Pass!

The original report came from Matt Black at WrestleZone, who stated that “numerous sources” had told him about the plans for a Game Pass launch. freelance journalist Mike Straw also reported the same thing later in the day.

Here’s the official description for the game:

Developed by YUKE’s, AEW: Fight Forever combines nostalgic arcade-wrestling with All Elite Wrestling finishers and moves. Featuring a big roster of AEW talent, multiple match types, robust career mode, tons of customization options, more than 40 weapons, and so much more!

The footage we’ve seen of AEW: Fight Forever so far has suggested it’ll act as a spiritual successor to the excellent WWF No Mercy on Nintendo 64, with the early gameplay from Gamescom 2022 definitely looking very promising.

That said, we still don’t have a confirmed release date for AEW’s first major video game just yet, and it seems possible that cover star CM Punk may need to be replaced prior to launch, with recent rumors suggesting he might not return to the company following a post-event scuffle at the AEW All Out 2022 event back in September.
